Here are four references I highly recommend no matter if you are just starting to explore the benefits of a plant based diet or if you have been on the path for awhile. You may want to pick one or two that appeal to you or check them all out.
The first is “The Game Changers”, a Netflix documentary about vegan (plant-based diet) benefits, released on October 16th, 2019. It's fast moving and covers a wide spectrum of the benefits of a plant based diet, from athletes, to fire fighters, older folks and about everyone in between. It also touches on the environmental impact of a plant based diet.

This is aTEDxBismarck talk by Neal Barnard that he gave on September 20th, 2016. It addresses Power Foods for the Brain. Dr. Barnard was instrumental in helping replace the food pyramid with the healthier Myplate model of nutrition. He explains free radicals, trans fats, antioxidants, and the research on memory loss - all in a succinct, usable way.
The book, "The China Study: Revised and Expanded Edition: The Most Comprehensive Study of Nutrition Ever Conducted and the Startling Implications for Diet, Weight Loss, and Long-Term Health" published on December 27th, 2016 by T. Colin Campbell (Author) and Thomas M. Campbell II (Author). This book was recommended by a doctor to a friend of mine that had lupus. The lupus doctor was so impressed with the research that he and his family had all begun eating a plant based diet. He encouraged all of his patients to eat a plant based diet for the overwhelming health benefits.
"Undo It!: How Simple Lifestyle Changes Can Reverse Most Chronic Diseases" published January 8th, 2019 by Dean Ornish M.D. (Author) and Anne Ornish (Author). My brother began the Ornish diet many years ago because it is solidly based on scientific research. Dr. Dean Ornish, and his wife Anne, in their new book have a mantra: "Eat well, move more, stress less, love more -- boom that's it!" What is really impressive to me is that their classes are covered under Medicare and Medicaid for Reversing Heart Disease.

The information in "The Game Changer" really got me thinking. With the massive athletic improvements seen in people who have switched from meat and dairy to clean food, I wonder what kind of athletes will be smashing Olympic records in the future, ones who have been raised on a clean diet from the start. It really is an awakening of human physical and mental potential on a grand scale.
