An ounce of prevention.. Hydrogen Peroxide

My grandmother used to say, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
I can relate to that. When I get sick, sometimes it seems to take a long time to get better. My strategy of possible preventions has me looking at hydrogen peroxide. It began in the dentist chair. My dentist was talking about gargling with 2 parts water to 1 part hydrogen peroxide. If you were going to do it just once a day, she recommended it at night. Both at night and in the morning, if you were feeling industrious.
It turns out that hydrogen peroxide is good for your gums, helps whiten teeth, and kills bacteria and viruses. I'm giving it a go on the industrious side.
If you want to try it, the 3% hydrogen peroxide that you get in the grocery store is recommended. I stir 1/6 cup of water with 1/12 a cup of hydrogen peroxide. Then I use it as a rinse and a gargle. It takes about 3 times swishing, gargling and spitting before it's gone. Try not to swallow it, but a little doesn't seem to hurt you.
